South Mississippi center fielder Mat Martin was instrumental in his team's 10-2 win over the Oregon State Beavers. Martin, who leads the RDL in bases on balls with 40, went 2-3 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Golden Eagles. The Golden Eagles bumped their record to 26-15 with this latest triumph.

Aaron Tarter, who is tied for 10th in the RDL in stolen bases with 7, chipped in for South Mississippi with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.

"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Mike Cole.
