Tight Tilt Goes to Seminoles, 2-1
|
Florida State beat South Carolina at Ballpark of Riverdale College, eking out a 2-1 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Matt Adams, who earned player of the game honors. Andy Wright earned the save, his 5th, for the Seminoles. The win boosts the Seminoles to 24-16. The loss puts the Gamecocks at 19-21.
The Seminoles got a big at-bat from shortstop Chris Parker. For the game, Parker was 1-4. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 11th hit of the season gave Florida State a 2-1 lead.
"We were in it," said South Carolina manager Orlando Torres. "We just didn't score enough runs."
