Victory Pushes Cougars Record to 25-13
|
The Washington State Cougars went home winners at Tribe Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Dave McCrudden. McCrudden silenced the Texas A&M Aggies, enabling Washington State to grab the 5-1 win. Eric Martindale earned his 9th save in 9 tries. The Cougars bumped their record to 25-13 with this latest triumph.
The Cougars got a big at-bat from second baseman Jonathan Vera. For the game, Vera went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Washington State a 2-0 lead.
"We did a lot of things right," said Vera.
