Clemson beat Auburn at Magistrates Ballpark, eking out a 8-7 win. The win was due in large part to center fielder Steve Barber, who earned player of the game honors. Getting the save was Rich Tygart, his 6th. The losses continue to mount for Auburn, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from first baseman Omar Bernardin. For the game, Bernardin was 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Clemson a 7-5 lead.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Bernardin said after the game.
