Joslyn Goes Off, But Trojans Win
Tulane got a terrific game from right fielder Brandon Joslyn. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to USC, 17-14. Joslyn was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. USC reliever Justin Anderson was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Dane Palmer took the loss for Tulane. The Trojans have an impressive 23-14 record.

The Trojans got a big at-bat from left fielder Greg Dimon. For the game, Dimon went 1 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 16th home run of the season gave USC a 16-13 lead.

"We take it day by day here," said Dimon, "and today was a good one for us."
