Sycamores Stymie Alabama, Take 3-1 Win
|
The Alabama Crimson Tide got a sterling performance from pitcher Nick Burdette, but the Sycamores still prevailed, 3-1. Burdette was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings allowing 2 runs. The Sycamores have an impressive 24-13 record.
The Sycamores got a big at-bat from right fielder Chad Burt. For the game, Burt went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Indiana State a 2-1 lead.
"We take it day by day here," said Burt, "and today was a good one for us."
