The Mississippi State Bulldogs got a superb performance from pitcher Jamal Gainey. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Ole Miss. The Rebels won the game, 5-2. In spite of the loss, Gainey was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. The Rebels bumped their record to 21-15 with this latest triumph.
