Victory Pushes Bears Record to 21-15
|
Conditions were not ideal but Baylor and Washington State were able to put their game in the books.
The Baylor Bears saddled the Washington State Cougars with a loss at Wolverines Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Jim Conley, named player of the game, was 3 for 3, including 2 singles and 1 home run. The Baylor catcher scored 1 run and drove in 2. The Bears bumped their record to 21-15 with this latest triumph.
Conley contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Baylor in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Conley took a cutter from Nate Miller and stroked the home run to left. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Bears to leap in front, 2-1.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Shinsui Sato.
