Buckeyes Solve Cavaliers, 5-4
|
Ohio State beat Virginia at Ballpark of Bloomfield College, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to right fielder Ben Blackwell, who earned player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. The save went to Zachary Royster, his 1st this season. The Buckeyes bumped their record to 19-16 with this latest triumph.
The Buckeyes got a big at-bat from third baseman Sean Robison. For the game, Robison was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Ohio State a 3-2 lead.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Robison. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
