Kansas City Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Bloomington Blazers and the Kansas City Tornadoes, Landy Lu was the difference-maker. The Bloomington right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-0 win. Paco Berroa was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 25 of 30 save opportunities. The Blazers have an impressive 46-25 record.
The Blazers got a big at-bat from shortstop Fernando Franco. For the game, Franco was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Bloomington a 2-0 lead.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Bloomington manager Javier Ramírez said.
