49'ers Rally to Eke Out Win
Long Beach State rode a decent outing from starter Tony Aaron to victory over the Arizona Wildcats at Red Wings Ballpark. The final score was 6-5. Kyle Silberman closed it out for his 1st save. Arizona's current losing streak is now 8 games.

Long Beach State used the timely hitting of Paul Grotrian to capture the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 13th inning to put the 49'ers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 7 at-bats, but he made it count.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Long Beach State manager Richie Robertson.
