Skinner scores 3 runs, Sycamores Move to 21-12
|
Indiana State shortstop Gary Skinner was a significant contributor in his team's 9-4 triumph over the Vanderbilt Commodores. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for Indiana State. Dan Fram got the win, improving to 3-1. He worked 5 innings, giving up no runs on 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. The Sycamores have an impressive 21-12 record.
The Sycamores got a big at-bat from third baseman Dave Perkins. For the game, Perkins was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Indiana State a 4-0 lead.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Perkins said.
