Gamecocks Win at Arkansas, 7-2
|
South Carolina Gamecocks starter Chris McCann was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Arkansas Razorbacks, 7-2. McCann went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-5. South Carolina is in 16th place in the Ron Fraser Division with a record of 15-18.
Travis Stanford, who is the top prospect in the Gamecocks organization, aided the South Carolina cause with a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder was 1-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," McCann told the South Carolina Bulletin.
