Salukis Lose to Gators in Walk Off
|
A 4-RBI performance from James Chapman helped the Florida Gators beat the South Illinois Salukis, 4-2. Reliever Scott Scott picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Mike Baker took the loss. The Salukis have now dropped 5 straight.
Chapman had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 3-1 cutter from Mike Baker, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Gators a 4-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Chapman.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Florida manager Torazo Yamamoto.
