Golden Bears Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Fresno State
|
Kevin Reiss helped his team muscle past the Fresno State Bulldogs, 6-4. In the game, the California first baseman was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Chad McCarty got the win, improving to 2-1. He held the Bulldogs to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Getting the save was Donald Barron, his 5th.
Reiss had a key at-bat for California early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and gave California an early 4-0 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Reiss said.
California is now riding a 3-game win streak.
