Ragin Cajuns Get Road Win, 4-2
|
Louisiana-Layfayette withstood an impressive performance by Long Beach State catcher Carlos Torres to defeat the 49'ers, 4-2, at Ballpark of Macclenny College. Torres was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Dave Gaspard got the win, improving to 2-1. He held the 49'ers to 1 earned run on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1. The Ragin Cajuns bumped their record to 17-14 with this latest triumph.
Bryant Santana aided the Louisiana-Layfayette cause with a bases-clearing double in the top of the third. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs.
