Seminoles Turn Back Florida, 7-6
The Florida State Seminoles topped the Florida Gators, 7-6, with youngster Gene Moffat playing a key role. Moffat went 2-2 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Seminoles in the win. The save was credited to Andy Wright, his 4th. The Seminoles bumped their record to 19-12 with this latest triumph.

Florida State took a 7-6 lead on Steve Owensby's 19th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Owensby hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Florida pitcher Scott Scott shaking his head.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Moffat told the Florida State Daily.
