Rebels Need Extra Frames to Get Past Titans
The Rebels grabbed a win, 5-4, at Hartford College Grounds, overcoming a fine effort from Cal State Fullerton pitcher Mike Hecker. Hecker went 5.2 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Ole Miss reliever Cory Hoffman was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Doug Gorski. The Rebels bumped their record to 19-12 with this latest triumph.

Ole Miss needed the clutch hitting of William Horst to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Rebels on top, 5-4. For the game, Horst had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Ole Miss manager Bobby Wynn.
