Sycamores Win in Glorious Fashion
|
South Illinois pitcher Brandon Roberts gave the Sycamores all they could handle, but in the end, Indiana State left Pit Vipers Ballpark with a 4-2 win. Roberts allowed 1 earned run on 5 hits over 5 innings. Indiana State reliever A.J. Porter picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Cory Dorsey took the loss. The Sycamores bumped their record to 19-11 with this latest triumph.
Chad Burt was the walk-off hero for Indiana State. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Sycamores right fielder hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Burt.
