Cyclones Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Missouri
|
Ryan Kern made an impact in the 6-4 Iowa State win over Missouri. Kern hit 2 home runs. Iowa State reliever Jeremiah Fletcher picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Nick Bell took the loss. The Cyclones bumped their record to 17-13 with this latest triumph.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from designated hitter Steve Lanier. For the game, Lanier was 1-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Iowa State a 2-1 lead.
Lanier expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
