Tigers Bang Out 7-4 Win Versus Baylor
|
The LSU Tigers topped the Baylor Bears, 7-4, in Rod Dedeaux League action at South Paris College Grounds. The player of the game was LSU pitcher and Detroit, Michigan native Joe Gardner. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Tigers.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from shortstop Troy Herring. For the game, Herring went 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 23rd hit of the season gave LSU a 4-2 lead.
Herring expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
