Bulldogs Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
The Mississippi State Bulldogs got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Dean Heath, but it was good enough for the club to take a 3-2 decision over the Arizona State Sun Devils. Mississippi State reliever Eric Novaria got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Jarrod McMillan was tagged with the loss. The 14th-place Bulldogs lifted their record to 15-15.

The Bulldogs got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Pat Licausi. For the game, Licausi was 1-1. In the bottom of the 11th, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 1st hit of the season gave Mississippi State a 3-2 lead.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Licausi.
