Tight Tilt Goes to Aggies, 3-2
|
Louisiana-Layfayette second baseman Jeff Frost had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 3-2, to Texas A&M at Sooners Ballpark. Frost was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Texas A&M starter Dan Mast was credited with the win after throwing 86 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 2-4. Texas A&M is now 12-17, Louisiana-Layfayette 16-13.
The Aggies got a big at-bat from catcher Devin Deskins. For the game, Deskins went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Texas A&M a 3-2 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Deskins said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
