Great Day for Henderson in Sun Devils Win
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Sam Henderson, the Arizona State Sun Devils defeated the Rice Owls, 13-4. Henderson went 3-5 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5 for the Sun Devils. Arizona State reliever Andy Crowley picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Mike Churchman was collared with the loss. Arizona State is now 12-17, Rice 12-17.
Henderson had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Sun Devils went on to win.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Henderson said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
