Golden Eagles Rally For Late Win Over Bears
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Dallas Fugate, the South Mississippi Golden Eagles defeated the Baylor Bears, 5-2. Fugate was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Golden Eagles. South Mississippi reliever Kevin Hargrove picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-1. Dexter Adams was collared with the loss. The Golden Eagles have an impressive 18-11 record.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and two out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when right fielder Nick Ashburn, who is rated as the 69th best prospect by BNN, drew a walk. The Golden Eagles went on to win.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Fugate said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
