Cowboys Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Virginia
|
The Virginia Cavaliers and Oklahoma State Cowboys cranked it up at Canaries Ballpark.
Benefiting from Justin Brown's productive game, the Oklahoma State Cowboys downed the Virginia Cavaliers, 6-4. Brown was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Cowboys. Oklahoma State reliever Curtis Wood picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Cody Botelho was collared with the loss. Alvin Sheldon saved it for Oklahoma State.
The Cowboys got a big at-bat from first baseman Paul Prince. For the game, Prince went 1-3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 8th hit of the season gave Oklahoma State a 5-4 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Brown said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Oklahoma State is now 13-16, Virginia 20-9.
