Multi-HR Day for Perkins as Sycamores Overpower Seminoles, 13-1
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Dave Perkins, the Indiana State Sycamores defeated the Florida State Seminoles, 13-1. Perkins went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Sycamores. The Sycamores have an impressive 18-11 record.
The Sycamores got a big at-bat from left fielder Josh Martin. For the game, Martin was 1 for 5. In the top of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 18th hit of the season gave Indiana State a 2-1 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Martin said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
