Sasquatch Come Up Short at New York
|
The New York Mafia and Seattle Sasquatch obliged those fans who came to Don Corleone Park looking for a good time.
The New York Mafia did just enough to sneak past the Seattle Sasquatch, 7-6, at Don Corleone Park. New York designated hitter Yoshihiro Suzuki earned player of the game honors. Nobuhito Suzuki picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 11 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 9. On the season, he is now 1-8.
Ricardo Corte aided the New York cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the catcher was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
In postgame comments to the New York Chronicle, Corte said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
Even with the win, the Mafia have a dismal 24-50 record.
