Mottaz Helps Commodores Run Win Streak to 6
Fans at Forney College Grounds were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Iowa State Cyclones take on the Vanderbilt Commodores.

The Vanderbilt Commodores saddled the Iowa State Cyclones with a loss at Forney College Grounds. The final score was 11-4. Mike Mottaz, named player of the game, was 3 for 4, including 2 singles and 1 home run. The Vanderbilt shortstop scored 1 run and drove in 6. Vanderbilt reliever Josh Spangler picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Justin McCaffrey was collared with the loss. Earning his 1st save for Vanderbilt was George Roth.

Mottaz had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the sixth inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Commodores went on to win.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Mottaz said.
