The Houston Cougars topped the Texas A&M Aggies, 4-1, in Rod Dedeaux League action at Sooners Ballpark. The player of the game was Houston pitcher Jesse Truman. The Cougars bumped their record to 14-12 with this latest triumph.

The Cougars got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jason Cizek. For the game, Cizek went 1 for 6. In the top of the 14th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 32nd hit of the season gave Houston a 2-1 lead.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Truman told the Houston Today. "You win just by scoring more runs."
