TCU got a terrific performance from right fielder Jon Dibling, but it wasn't enough to beat the Tulane Green Wave. Tulane won the Berthoud College Grounds contest, 6-5. Dibling was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Jim Mignogna, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 2-0. The save was Troy King's, his 3rd.
Early in the game, designated hitter Brian Goodman had a grand slam home run for Tulane. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Green Wave on top, 4-1.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Goodman told the Tulane Today.
Even with the win, the Green Wave have a dismal 7-19 record.
