Ducks Solve Cardinals, 6-3

Oregon and Stanford duked it out at Surfers Ballpark and the Ducks came out victorious.
Oregon first baseman Zachary Long was instrumental in his team's 6-3 win over the Stanford Cardinals. Long, who is the 3rd-best prospect in the Ducks organization, went 3-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Ducks. The Ducks bumped their record to 14-12 with this latest triumph.
In the bottom of the eighth, David Niemiec stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Cardinals were trailing 6-3, but had runners on 2nd and 3rd. That's when Mike Russo made a terrific pitch and Niemiec struck out. Gone was the dream of a Stanford comeback.
