Tornadoes Turn Back Bloomington, 5-3
|
The Bloomington Blazers got a superb performance from third baseman Jack Morris. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Kansas City. The Tornadoes won the game, 5-3. In spite of the loss, Morris was named the player of the game. He was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. Gerard Kotas, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 1. His record now stands at 3-8. Munemori Abe notched his 12th save in 15 chances.
Mark Clubb aided the Kansas City cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We did a lot of things right," said Clubb.
Even with the win, the Tornadoes have a dismal 22-49 record.
