Roe Hits 2 home runs in Sycamores Win
|
Indiana State center fielder Nate Roe was instrumental in his team's 6-3 win over the Virginia Cavaliers. Roe, who is the 6th-best prospect in the Sycamores organization, went 3-4 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Sycamores. Indiana State reliever Dan Juhas picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Scott Weyer was saddled with the loss. Daniel Farley earned the save for Indiana State, his 1st.
Roe had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-1 slider from Kris Richardson, he banged a 3-run home run to center, giving the Sycamores a 6-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Roe.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Indiana State manager Philip Lilly.
The 4th-place Sycamores now have a 7-game winning streak.
