The Seattle Sasquatch picked up a win at Don Corleone Park, knocking off the New York Mafia, 3-1. Starting pitcher Matt Nolan was an essential part of his team's success. Nolan picked up the win for Seattle, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 9 hits. He now sports a record of 6-4. The last-place Mafia have dropped 12 straight games.
The Sasquatch got a big at-bat from catcher Kelly Carpenter. For the game, Carpenter was 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 32nd hit of the season gave Seattle a 3-1 lead.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Carpenter said.
