Tigers Continue Skid Thanks to Roberts, Salukis
South Illinois played host to Auburn at the friendly confines of Field of the Shield.

Behind a solid performance from right fielder Anthony Roberts, the South Illinois Salukis defeated the Auburn Tigers, 9-0. Roberts was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Salukis. Elijah Allen earned the win to go to 2-1. He allowed no earned runs on 3 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts.

Roberts had a big at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a 2-run double. The Salukis went on to win.

"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Victor Rafferty.

The 23rd-place Tigers have dropped 5 straight games.
