Iowa State center fielder Matt O'Dell was instrumental in his team's 5-2 win over the Georgia Bulldogs. O'Dell, who leads the SBL in stolen bases with 9, went 3-4 with no runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cyclones. Iowa State reliever Tyler Baxter picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tim Bogle was saddled with the loss. The Cyclones bumped their record to 13-12 with this latest triumph.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from shortstop Justin Olson. For the game, Olson was 1 for 3 with a walk. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 32nd hit of the season gave Iowa State a 1-0 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Iowa State manager Theodore Foster.
