Bulldogs Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Jeremy Ross, the Fresno State Bulldogs defeated the UCLA Bruins, 5-2. Ross was 3 for 3 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Bulldogs. Fresno State reliever Danny Jensen picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Paul Poorman was saddled with the loss. Jeff Shue earned the save for Fresno State, his 5th.

Bobby Douberly, who is tied for 8th in the RDL with a .740 slugging percentage, aided the Fresno State cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Fresno State manager Xavier Chávez.

The first-place Bulldogs now have a 4-game winning streak.
