Tar Heels Prove Rude Guests, Win 8-3 at Oklahoma State
|
North Carolina shortstop Adam Exner was instrumental in his team's 8-3 win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Exner went 3-5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Tar Heels. North Carolina reliever Larry Quimby picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Dan McKnight was saddled with the loss. The Tar Heels bumped their record to 13-12 with this latest triumph.
The Tar Heels got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Bryan McGregor. For the game, McGregor was 1 for 1 with a home run. In the top of the seventh, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave North Carolina a 4-3 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said North Carolina manager William Wilson.
