The Vanderbilt Commodores topped the Miami Hurricanes, 6-4, with youngster Dustin Stumpf playing a key role. Stumpf was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk for the Commodores in the win. The save went to Jimmy Gregus, his 9th this season. Vanderbilt is now riding a 3-game win streak.

The Commodores got a big at-bat from third baseman Brent Biernacki. For the game, Biernacki went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 7th double of the season gave Vanderbilt a 5-4 lead.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Biernacki.
