Behrens Helps Rice Outscore Texas
The Rice Owls dealt the Texas Longhorns a 11-10 loss at Toughkenamon College Fields. John Behrens was the star on offense. He slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 6. The save went to B.J. Kelly, his 4th this season. With the win over Texas, the Owls improved to 10-14.

Behrens contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Rice in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 9-8, Behrens took a forkball from Kyle Brown and stroked the home run to left. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Owls to leap in front, 11-9.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Texas manager Mitsuzuka Ito. "The effort was great."
