The Wake Forest Demon Deacans got a superb performance from left fielder Jerry Howard. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Oklahoma. The Sooners won the game, 6-2. In spite of the loss, Howard was named the player of the game. He went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Brian Kiesel picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 3-0. The save went to Zachary Schultz, his 8th this season.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when catcher Sam Erickson hit a single. The Sooners went on to win.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Oklahoma manager Bennie Edwards.

The Sooners bumped their record to 15-9 with this latest triumph.
