Jonathan Van Horn pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Clemson Tigers, despite Van Horn's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the South Carolina Gamecocks at Magistrates Ballpark. Clemson, at 6-17, has lost 4 straight.
Josh Fade aided the South Carolina cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the catcher was 1-4.
"I really like what we did out there today," Fade said after the game.
