Texans Get Past Columbus for 4-3 Win
|
The Columbus Aces got a superb performance from second baseman Michael Fitzgerald. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Dallas. The Texans won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Fitzgerald was named the player of the game. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Dallas reliever William MacDougal picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Aurelien Bonello was saddled with the loss. The 5th-place Aces have dropped 5 straight games.
Esteban Ruíz, who leads the RCL in hits with 86, chipped in for Dallas with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
"We did a lot of things right," said Ruíz.
