Multi-HR Game for Barker in 7-4 Win
The Michigan Wolverines topped the South Illinois Salukis, 7-4, with youngster Art Barker playing a key role. Barker slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Wolverines in the win. The save was credited to James Arnold, his 8th. The Wolverines bumped their record to 12-11 with this latest triumph.

Barker had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 splitter from Jim Thomazin, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Wolverines a 6-4 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Barker.

"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Barker.
