Tom Colletti had a good game, but he could not keep the Georgia Bulldogs from falling, 4-2, to the Miami Hurricanes at Field of the Plunder. The Georgia designated hitter went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks in the loss. Earning his 5th save of the year was Aaron Lentz. The Hurricanes, now at 9-13, know that wins in April count the same as wins in September.
The Hurricanes got a big at-bat from right fielder Matt Malone. For the game, Malone went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the top of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Miami a 2-1 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Malone told reporters after the game.
