The Mississippi State Bulldogs got a stellar performance from pitcher Chris Dupree, who handcuffed the Stanford offense en route to a 4-2 win at Surfers Ballpark. Mississippi State reliever Chris Dupree got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Johnny Rascoe was tagged with the loss. Ken Robinson earned his 1st save in 1 tries.

Early in the game, third baseman Joey Connell had a run-scoring double for Mississippi State. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Bulldogs on top, 1-0.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Mississippi State manager Carlton Price. "It's usually not just one thing."

The Bulldogs, at 11-10, have now won 5 straight.
