Owls Lose, 5-0, at Ballpark of Storm Lake College
South Mississippi got a strong outing from Mike Canada as the Golden Eagles defeated the Rice Owls, 5-0, at Ballpark of Storm Lake College. South Mississippi reliever Josh Williamson picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Mike Riding was collared with the loss. The Golden Eagles bumped their record to 13-8 with this latest triumph.

John Rose hit a bases-clearing double off Mike Churchman in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Golden Eagles in front, 3-0. In addition to the double, Rose had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said South Mississippi manager Jason Metcalf.
