Demon Deacans Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Wake Forest Demon Deacans faced a tough opponent in Missouri pitcher Mark Schwartz, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Ridge College by a final score of 8-1. Schwartz went 5.2 innings and allowed no earned runs. The Demon Deacans bumped their record to 14-7 with this latest triumph.
Joey McKnight chipped in for Wake Forest with a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Wake Forest manager Roberto Salas.
