For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.

North Carolina got a terrific performance from pitcher Dustin Thomas, but it wasn't enough to beat the Indiana State Sycamores. Indiana State won the Pit Vipers Ballpark contest, 3-1. Thomas was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. The winner was Indiana State reliever Daniel Farley, now 2-0. The loser was Larry Quimby.

Indiana State won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With two outs and Larry Quimby on the mound for North Carolina, second baseman Dave Page hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Sycamores fans to their feet.

"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Page said.

The Sycamores bumped their record to 12-9 with this latest triumph.
